Last updated: August 21, 2026

1. Introduction

GrowingUpVideo ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our AI video generation service.

2. Information We Collect

2.3 Usage Data

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited and features used
  • Timestamps of activity

2.4 Payment Information

We do not store credit card details. Payment processing is handled by our payment provider.

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 Primary Uses

  • Provide and maintain the Service
  • Process your video generation requests
  • Authenticate your identity
  • Communicate with you about your account
  • Send service-related notifications

3.2 AI Processing

Your images are processed by:

  • Anthropic Claude: For analyzing and ordering images by age
  • PixVerse: For generating video transitions
  • fal.ai: For generating video transitions (fallback provider)
  • Amazon Rekognition: For couple videos only, to run an automated face comparison so both people stay correctly positioned across the transition. Processing happens on the fly; no facial template or other biometric data is stored, and it is never applied to single-person or pet videos. See our GDPR page for details.

3.3 Analytics

We use analytics to understand usage patterns and improve the Service.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Where We Store Data

  • AWS US-East-1: Job metadata (DynamoDB), images, and videos (S3)
  • Authentication data: Clerk's infrastructure
  • Third-party AI: Images are sent to Anthropic, PixVerse, and fal.ai for processing

4.2 Data Retention

  • Uploaded images: Automatically deleted after 30 days
  • Generated videos: Automatically deleted after 30 days
  • Job metadata (settings, timestamps, AI-generated descriptions): Kept up to 24 months
  • Deletion requests: We delete your account data within 30 days of your emailed request

4.3 Security Measures

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Encryption at rest (AWS S3/DynamoDB)
  • Access controls and authentication
  • Regular security reviews

4.4 Sharing Your Video

Your videos and photos are private by default. If you choose to create a share link, that link is public: anyone who has it can watch the video and see your photos, without signing in. The link stops working when the video is deleted after 30 days. We cannot disable a share link before then, so only send it to people you trust.

5. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third parties solely to provide the Service:

7. Cookies and Tracking

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us immediately.

9.1 Photos of Children

Many of our users upload photos of children to create a growing-up video. By uploading such a photo, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to upload it. If you become aware that a child's photo was uploaded without proper authorization, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Data Breaches

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will:

  • Notify affected users within 72 hours
  • Provide details about what happened
